Scheduling

Avoid scheduling right before or after a strenuous event. And try not to rush, or squeeze appointments between errands, activities, etc. You’ll worry and won’t be able to relax. This is time invested in you so make it count.

eating

Avoid arriving hungry. This can make you lightheaded or distracted during treatment. You don’t want to be really full, just avoid having a completely empty stomach.

Coffee

Avoid coffee 2 hours before your session. Caffeine stimulates the sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight), while acupuncture often works to engage the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest). It is in this rest and digest state that the body repairs and rejuvenates, and caffeine can inhibit this process.

Clothing

Try to wear loose, comfortable clothing. Treatments are most effective when we can easily get to the problem areas.

Cell phones

To avoid getting distracted, please turn your cell phone off.
